These computer system laboratories will serve to lower gaps in access to devices and the Internet by supplying public computer gain access to for people with specials needs, Marylanders without irreversible residence (i.e. unhoused), veterans, and our incarcerated & returning citizens. The program provides grants of as much as $65,000 for approximately 100% for the development, upgrade, and/or retrofit of computer system labs/centers throughout Maryland.

The funding source for the program is the American Rescue Plan Act of 2021 and all federal rules needed of the financing apply to the program. The Maryland Workplace of Statewide Broadband is making up to roughly $11.8 million offered through Connect Maryland's Network Facilities Grant Program Round 2.

Funding will support jobs that improve broadband transportation capability, affiliation, resiliency, redundancy, and long-lasting network scalability. These tasks are meant to strengthen the performance, reliability, and sustainability of broadband networks serving locals, organizations, and public-interest utilizes throughout Maryland.
